THE COURSE OFFERED:
The department offers Ayurvedic pharmacy course during second year of D.A.M.S course.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This department imparts the knowledge of the properties of various minerals, metals, poisonous drugs, aquatic drugs, etc. Students are being trained in classical and modern pharmaceutical procedures related to the preparation of drugs. The department has a very good museum and more than 80 compilations on Rasa Shastra. This department is taking keen interest in developing substantial parameters for standardization and quality control of Ayurvedic formulations. Studies are carried out on Ayurvedic formulations with special reference to toxicity study of mercurial and metallic drugs.
COURSE OBJECTIVE:
1. Understand the mechanisms and processes of the production of Ayurvedic medicine (natural medicine).
2. Perform and interpret laboratory test and procedures.
3. Develop attitude and knowledge for research in this subject.
